4.2 Update

We’re excited to announce version 4.2 of the Cascade theme.  This update includes an accessibility improvement to the search presentation and two new templates for standard pages.  All new website requests will be processed using theme 4.2 effective immediately.

Learn more about the new templates

•  Standard Page with Full Width Banner Image* - This template includes the ability to add a full width banner image. Please note that this template does not support adding text on top of the banner image. It is highly recommended that you avoid placing images with text in this space. The banner is designed to be responsive and what is visually displayed may differ depending on device and browser window size.

•  Standard Page with Common Side Bar Block*  - This template includes the option to include a navigation block, similar to the navigation builder. This template should be used on standard pages that might have a common group of sidebar links that need to be displayed on more than one page. Using a navigation block will allow you to efficiently manage a set of common links in one location opposed to manually updating sidebar links on multiple pages.

How do I get the new theme/templates?

All new Cascade site requests will be processed using theme version 4.2. The web team will be working to update all live websites with previous versions of the new cascade theme (v4.1 through v4.1.1.3) starting October 1, 2024 and plan to have the work completed by November 4, 2024. Please note that this update will require a site-wide publish.  This update will only be made for live sites currently using the bootstrap 4 Cascade theme.

What if I have a development site using an older version of the theme?

For existing new theme users who have a development sandbox, submit a General Request TDX Help Ticket and in the comments include the following: “upgrade my development site to theme 4.2.”

How do I know which version of the new theme I am using?

In Cascade CMS, check the name of your site. The version number of the theme is included after the site name. For example, if you see a v4112, this means you are using an earlier version of the new theme. If your site is named v3900 (or has no version number), then it is considered “legacy.”
